Vipul Chaudhary, the Chairman of Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd. -which is among the 17 union members of GCMMF - was elected as the new Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) on 18th August 2012 an Rs 11,660-crore (F.Y. 2011-12) turnover entity that markets products under the popular brand ‘Amul’, in an election marked by hectic political maneuvering behind the scene. He was unanimously elected as the Chairman of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
Under the chairmanship of Shri Vipul Chaudhary - the annual turnover of Amul has reached to more than Rs. 19,100 crore or $3.2 billion in the financial year 2012-13. He told that GCMMF will one day fulfill its destiny of becoming the largest dairy organization in the world and centre of gravity for global dairy industry and rapid expansion will be the cooperative's mantra for 2013-14.
He further added that while our member unions are expanding their respective processing and manufacturing capacities, we are swiftly expanding and strengthening four distribution highways to ensure that our products reach our loyal consumers in remotest corners of the country. The federation plans to increase the parlour network to 10,000 within the next two years.
9th September, 2013 was the first death anniversary of Dr. V. Kurien. On this day, Shri Vipul Chaudhary demanded Bharat Ratna for him for his prestigious contribution towards socio-economic upliftment of milk producers and bringing white revolution.
